Volunteers, business leaders, government officials, donors, and other guests gathered at the Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club on April 15, 2016, to celebrate United Way of Sumner County's 2015 fundraising campaign and to honor those who played a role in our success over the past year.

In addition to revealing a record-setting 2015 fundraising total of $930,399, awards were presented to many individuals and businesses that helped raise the funds that will support UWSC's local partner agencies, which meet health, educational and human service needs of Sumner County residents.

BRUCE, the Million Dollar Moose, UWSC's campaign mascot, made an appearance at the Breakfast.

Macy's Logistics and Operations in Portland received the 2015 Hugh Carpenter Award for having the best 2015 workplace campaign.

The City of Hendersonville won the award for Best Campaign Event for its "End Hunger Games" activity. UWSC Board Chair Johnny Garrett is pictured presenting the award to City of Hendersonville Assistant Finance Director Dana Swinea.

 


Peyton's Mid-South won the award for Most Innovative Campaign for its work featuring BRUCE, the Million Dollar Moose.

 


Servpro Industries, Inc., won the award for Most Improved Campaign. Pictured are Servpro Campaign Coordinator September Norman and UWSC Board Chair Johnny Garrett.

 


Hendersonville High School raised more money than any other school, $6,147, and took home the Learning to Give Award. Pictured are HHS Principal Bob Cotter, Campaign Coordinator Debbie Sheets, and UWSC Marketing and Communications Manager Steve Doremus.

 


Publix Supermarkets won the Torchbearer Award for having the highest employee giving ($91,220) and the Leadership Givers Award for having the highest amount donated by those giving $500 or more.
