Allocations Volunteers

Executive Allocations Committee

This committee meets regularly throughout the year. Responsibilities include monitoring partner agencies to ensure funds allocated are being used properly; overseeing the entire allocations process; and handling emergency or special grant requests.

Budget Review Committee

Members of the Budget Review Committee are responsible for checking out the budgets of several applying agencies or programs. Their findings are included in the materials that the allocations volunteers review in determining funding.

Allocations Panelists

In January each year, Allocations Panels of United Way of Sumner County are determined.  This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer and get a picture of how our funds are distributed.  Please consider this opportunity.  During Allocations Week (typically held in April each year), you will need to attend an orientation and training session, visit one agency prior to your allocations day, meet back with your panel and then commit to a full day of allocations.   

We ask that you pay particular attention to the completion of the section regarding your affiliation with agencies who are requesting funding for the upcoming fiscal year.  If you or an immediate family member is intimately involved with and/or serving on boards of agencies requesting support, you will be disqualified from serving on a panel which reviews the agency (agencies) with which they are affiliated.  This requirement will help maintain fair, bias-free allocations procedures.
