Letter of Intent Due

All agencies requesting funding for the first time OR new programs of current funded partners must complete and submit this Letter of Intent. The form is DUE by 4pm on December 6, 2021. Please complete a separate Letter of Intent for each program for which you are requesting funding.

 

Eligibility:  

  • An agency must be tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code AND have been in operation for at least two (2) years.
  • Only health and human service agencies are eligible to apply, who do no duplicate services of other current funded partners.

Application Process:  

  1. Agencies must submit a Letter of Intent for NEW progrmas for which funds are being requested. 
  2. The United Way of Sumner County Community Impact Committee volunteers then will review, discuss, and rank proposals.  
  3. By December 15, 2021, the Committee will select agencies who will be invited to submit a full grant application for the following grant year.

Note:  Only those agencies invited to submit a full proposal will be considered for funding.  The programs proposed are limited to those that were identified in the invitation to submit a grant application.

Evaluation Criteria:     

  • United Way of Sumner County will focus on community investments that have potential to achieve a positive impact in our community.
  • United Way of Sumner County will make funding decisions based on program outcomes and community impact, 
  • United Way of Sumner County will base decisions on objective measurements of program outcomes.
  • Programs should fall within one of United Way's four Building Blocks of a Successful Life:
    • Education - Providing early learning opportunities, youth mentoring programs, assistance in overcoming barriers to learning and promoting literacy to span throughout adulthood.
    • Financial Stability - Assisting in establishing basic needs following emergencies,cultivating financial literacy and helping families become self-sustaining.
    • Health - Implementing preventative care and critically needed services; helping seniors stay in their own homes and providing age-appropriate mental and physical health resources.
    • Rebuilding LivesProviding assistance in times of crisis or disaster, youth and family-focused counseling and reducing child abuse and domestic violence.
