United Way of Sumner County launched its 2019 Community Impact Campaign with a World Premiere Event at Gallatin's historic Palace Theatre on Thursday evening, Sept. 5. Thank you to every member of the record-setting crowd that helped us start our 43rd year with excitement and enthusiasm. The night began with red-carpet arrivals and photos, followed by heavy hors d'oeuvres and fellowship. Once in the theatre, guests were treated to music from The Broomestix and video information about United Way's impact on the community over the past year, the history of the Palace Theatre, and much more.
The night's program began with a fast-paced video on the silver screen introducing UWSC's 2019 theme, Change Doesn't Happen Alone. Presenting Sponsor and UWSC founding Board member Charles Bone delivered moving comments to the crowd concerning community service and caring for each other. UWSC Board Chair Lindy Gaughan thanked the assembled UWSC supporters for their support of the organization, and Historic Downtown Gallatin Inc. Executive Director Donna Belote welcomed guests on behalf of the Palace Theatre. UWSC Director Steve Doremus delivered remarks explaining the mission and purpose of UWSC, the organization's goals for the coming year, and how the community can come together to bring meaningful change to Sumner County. The program ended with the world premiere of UWSC's 2019 Campaign Video. Following the program, guests were invited to take and proudly wear a 2019 UWSC LIVE UNITED t-shirt to help spread the organization's message throughout the community.
