Impacting our Neighbors at H.A.T.S Rainbow Intervention

HATS Rainbow Intervention for Sept Oct 2022 newsletter

“Emma Jo's (Down Syndrome) diagnosis was a surprise to us when she was born. The pediatrician that saw her said, ‘Congratulations and good luck.’ Emma Jo is our first born, so there we were, first time parents with a daughter that has an extra chromosome. We were completely overwhelmed & lost, until we found out about early intervention. Rainbow and our early intervention therapist helped us see light at the end of the tunnel. I felt comfort, along with being educated about our daughter's diagnosis, as well… They've taught us how to teach Emma Jo to sit properly, play with toys, hold feeding utensils, and how to teach her every day skills that most parents take for granted. They have opened our eyes into the ‘special needs’ parent world, and I could not be more thankful. Now that Emma Jo is school-aged, Rainbow continues to help our community with navigating the school system and our rights as parents and most importantly, Emma Jo's rights. I am so very thankful that my family has Rainbow's resources.”  - Parent, H.A.T.S Rainbow Intervention
