volunteers sorting school supplies

Thanks to the generosity of our community, this year’s Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive was quite a success! Together, we collected more than 4,000 school supply items valued at around $3,500, all to help students in Sumner County start the year with the tools they need to succeed.

These supplies are already making a difference through our partner agencies and programs, including distribution to students experiencing homelessness through the Sumner County Schools McKinney-Vento program. Backpacks filled with supplies also went to students from families served by:

  • Amazing Grace Mission in Westmoreland
  • CASA
  • Gallatin Shalom Zone
  • Grace Place
  • Hendersonville Samaritan Association
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society
  • Unlimited Potential

By coming together, we’re helping level the playing field so every student has a fair chance to learn and thrive.

We are grateful to the many businesses and organizations that hosted internal collection campaigns, including:

  • The Clarendale at Indian Lake
  • Gallatin Ford
  • ITW StampTech Fasteners
  • PIC North America
  • Red Cedar Glen Living
  • The Gap
  • Volunteer State Community College

A special thank you also goes to the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce and the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce for serving as public drop-off sites & rallying community participation and to the 27 volunteers who helped us sort, log, and pack donations!

Your commitment to students and families shows the true spirit of our community:  neighbors looking out for neighbors.

Thank you to every individual, company, and partner who gave supplies, made donations, or spread the word. Together, we showed that United is the Way™  to support local students.
