Hendersonville, Tennessee - January 16, 2026 The Board of Directors of United Way of Sumner County announced today that it is continuing its national executive search for the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer. The position was initially posted at the end of 2025, and the search is being conducted in partnership with United Way Worldwide to identify a highly qualified, mission-driven leader to guide the organization into its next chapter of impact.
The search follows the departure of CEO Erin Birch, whose leadership helped strengthen United Way’s community partnerships, expand its impact initiatives, and deepen its commitment to addressing the most pressing needs of families across Sumner County.

Working alongside United Way Worldwide, the Board and search committee are engaging a broad pool of candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to community impact, equity, and collaborative leadership.
The next President & CEO will serve as the organization’s chief executive and community convener, responsible for advancing United Way of Sumner County’s work in education, financial stability, and health, strengthening partnerships across sectors, driving resource development, and ensuring operational excellence.
