At United Way of Sumner County, we believe lasting change starts with local action, and that no single organization can do it all alone. That’s where the Community Fund comes in.
The UWSC Community Fund is the most powerful way to give back and make an impact across Sumner County. Instead of supporting just one cause, a gift to the Community Fund helps address a full range of needs. It ensures families have access to healthcare, children have safe spaces to learn and grow, seniors aren’t isolated, and neighbors facing crisis can rebuild their lives.
Each year, donations to the Community Fund are reviewed through a volunteer-led allocations process and distributed to trusted, local nonprofits working in our four key Impact Areas:
• Healthy Community
• Youth Opportunity
• Financial Security
• Community Resilience
Your contribution is combined with others to create meaningful, community-wide impact. This year alone, 34 local health and human service programs will receive support through the Community Fund. It’s how we come together to meet critical needs and help ensure every person in Sumner County has the chance to thrive.
Designations Are Always Welcome, but the Community Fund Makes the Broadest Impact.
We understand that some donors feel passionate about supporting a specific agency or cause, and we honor that. When you give through United Way of Sumner County, you are always welcome to designate your gift to a particular partner agency or impact area.
However, we encourage donors to consider giving to the Community Fund whenever possible. Doing so allows our trained community volunteers to assess current needs and direct funds where they’ll do the most good. Needs can shift over time, and unrestricted donations provide the flexibility to respond strategically, ensuring no one is left behind.
One gift. Big impact. That’s the power of the Community Fund.
